About

BLACK BELT SPORTS MEDICINE

Black Belt Sports Medicine Systems was born from a passion for both martial arts and athlete care.

When I began competing as a blue belt in local Southern California events back in 1998, there was a noticeable lack of medical coverage for competitors. Despite the small scale of these events, I juggled both competition and providing medical care, experiences that ultimately shaped my professional journey and dedication to sports medicine today.

As the Director of Sports Medicine at Velocity Sports in Redondo Beach, Dr. Ethan M. Kreiswirth oversees sports medicine education and clinical care for athletes. He also serves as the Sports Medicine Consultant for King World Sports' Professional Boxing Program. Additionally, he is the Medical Director and Coordinator for the United States Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (USBJJF) and International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), providing medical support since the late 1990s.
